test run #2 - Revisiting the postcard design

After 3 test mailings with minor adjustments and receiving 0 of 3, I have finally accepted that it is not the stamps, usps, or coincidence.

the original postcards were likely doomed for 3 reasons:

  1. there is no room at the bottom for the usps barcode

  2. the mailing address is hella small

  3. most importantly…I did not address the postcards to (post)Hope

I’ve adjusted the postcard design to accommodate the above and will try, try mailing them again.

postcard design 2.0

I initially intended to wait on printing a full-run after receiving a successful test mailing, but I let the excitement of reaching a big milestone mess with the process I laid out.

lessons (Re)learned:

  • trust your process + Gut

  • slow down

  • “measure twice, cut once”

I took pics of my hope-filled postcards before mailing them, just in case i would never see them again, and now i think it should maybe be a best practice before sending?

(reasoning) If someone doesn’t see their mailed postcard in the (Need Some)Hope Gallery within a month or so, they could send a photo for display.
