…and we’re back

QUICK + DIRTY UPDATES

  • All 3 test run postcards were received!

  • I successfully mailed and received the first official (Post)Hope postcard. Take a look in the (Need Some)Hope Gallery!

  • Postcards for Designs #1-#4 are printed, cut, and ready for dispersal around Philly!

LESSONS LEARNED

  • LESSON: The paper I chose requires a heavy-duty paper-cutter to avoid fraying on the postcard edges——designs #2-#4 had much cleaner edges.

  • LESSON: Any delay in flooding the screen, even for 30 seconds, will waste a lot of time and newsprint.

  • LESSON: Do a test pull before thinning the ink——you’re not experienced enough to tell by looking at the “cake batter-ness” of the ink,..yet.

The below postcard designs and quantities will be dispersed around Philly over the next couple of weeks. I’ll post the general areas/neighborhoods/locations as I receive updates from the awesome people who have agreed to help spread (Post)Hope around!

FINAL THOUGHTS: I’m going to focus on creating Designs #6-#12 and printing each design’s QR postcard to get them out in the world to be found. Once all the postcards are printed, I’ll continuing printing the original designs. Hopefully, my screenprinting skills will have leveled-up a bit by then :)
